Lint Roller

Have you used a lint roller? When you use the lint roller a great deal, the paper is no longer tacky and nothing sticks to it anymore. When that happens, you peel that portion off so you can use a new surface area that’s tacky.

God showed me that when we ask Him questions with our minds already focused on what we want or what we expect, it’s like coming to him with a used lint roller. We are less likely to receive the fullness of what He wants to reveal to us because our minds are full with something else. We become “less tacky," if you will. When we strip ourselves (like peeling off the used lint roller sheet) and come to Him “bare," we’re able to receive all that He has for us and what He desires to say. We’re able to receive what He has for us.

He’s a loving God and can correct and re-direct. However, if we’re not open to that, He’s a patient Father, so He’ll wait until our hearts are ready. Remember, it’s not about doing this perfectly—it’s about our willingness.
